The look you give your colleague when you’re serving a rude customer speaks a thousand words.- Just know, you’ll be the talk of the staff room later.
Wanting to die inside when people STILL complain about having to buy a plastic bag- It’s 5p Sharron, I think you’ll survive.
Going shopping and finding yourself wanting to tidy and pull forward in other stores. You barely do it in your own store but you can’t help yourself, we all gotta stick together right?
The long wait while your customer searches for their loyalty card. “It’s always the last place you look” *awkward laugh*.
When customers ask “do you work here?”. No honey, I wear this uniform because it looks fab.
Breaking down your days into smaller chunks to make it through. SO you’ve got 2 hours until your next hour break then only an hour and a half until you have to move department and then an hour until your break. Easy.
Not being able to finish your story to your colleague because of all the stupid customers getting in the way.
Starting to give someone’s change and panicking when they say “can I give you the spare 16 pence” and having to think back to GCSE Maths to work out the change.
When you get bored you can wander round the shop and do mental shopping. You’ve got so much spare time you can work out all the best offers because let’s face it who wants to spend all their wages back in their own store?
Feeling unnecessarily offended when customers put their money on the counter rather than in your hands.
Just some fun things, I’m sure we’ve all experienced working in retail.
For Christmas i received the cutest little bauble set which contained a small bottle of a Bleach london dye and hair tie. The usual price for the bottle is £5.00
I have been wanting to try the Bleach London range for ages but now I have been left dissapointed. The colour I received was Rose and was excited to try a baby pink dip dye. I have had pink hair a few times, mostly it was raspberry coloured pink but I always preferred it when it had faded to a baby pink.
I did as the instructions said and waited the amount of time and when i had finished drying my hair I had cute baby pink ends thanks to my badly bleached white blonde ends. I got loads of compliments on it when I put it up in a cute little pink bun!Unfortunately after just one wash no single trace of pink was left, despite the bottle stating it is meant to last 2-10 washes- I didn’t even have time to take a picture of it! I would give the colour high scores but to go to all that effort for one day of colour just doesn’t seen worth it, next time I will stick to my XXL colours – who do amazing bright colours but little in terms of pastel colours.
If anyone has any suggestions on how to get better results, let me know as it did come out a cute colour
I’m sure by now you’ve heard about MUA, one of the cheapest yet surprisingly good make up brands available online or exclusively at (i hate to say) Superdrug. One of their best features is the price of their make up with lipsticks ranging from only £1-£3 and foundation from £3-£5.
I could not help but try the £1 nude lipstick called Bare! With the ever growing want for Kylie Jenner big nude lips I am attempting several different nude shades over the next week weeks starting with the cheapest.
The colour is surprisingly pigmented and shows up quite well but comes out slighlty darker than i would have wanted for a “bare” look but it is a lovely colour with tones not too orangey which i tend to find with a lot of nudes.Unlike the Jenner look I hoped for ,it was too sticky and shiny but i do enjoy wearing it as my lip feel moisturised as opposed to the dry feeling of certain matte lipsticks. As it’s so “slippy” however it doesn’t tend to last too long so I pair mine with the Max Factor Lipfinity Balm to help it stay.
But I have big news… PREPARE YOURSELVES LADIES… me and my bestfriend have been buying the MUA lipsticks for years as I am sure many of you have but how many of you know about the secret extra colour you get?! The bottom of the lipstick which most believe just to show the colour of the lipstick is actually a mini pot of what I can only describe as more lipstick .This one came out at a much lighter and matter colour which I loved and was surprised was!Although the pot is so tiny you can only fit your pinky or a lip brush in it is definitely worth using, so if you own any of these lipstick unscrew the bottom and enjoy!
So I haven’t quite ended up with massive Kardashian worthy nude lips but with my purse only £1 lighter I can say this is a must buy!
Since the idea of a “pen liner” came out like 10 years ago with Rimmel being one of the first. I have tried every single one under the sun ,we all know they range from the £1.99 Collection to the top range benefit ones but i think i have finally found my favourite.
The So Couture Super Liner by L’oreal Paris has one of the finest nibs (yes, that is it’s new scientific name) i have encountered. Unfortunately it was a free gift in Boots for Loreal and i haven’t been able to purchase it since ( correct me if i’m wrong, as you can tell i spend by life in boots and feel too much like a traitor to venture anywhere else), so i somehow ended up spending £60 on l’oreal just to get 3 free liners ( woops!) so if you ever see any GRAB IT!
Similarly to the Maybeline Master Piece liner, this liner has a flexible ,yet somehow even thinner, nib which is perfect for cat eye flicks as you can see me sporting in my picture (very soberly…NOT).And even on days when i can’t be bothered to wear my liner the nib is thin enough to create a lash-hugging barely-there line!
The only downside is that the liner does last THAT long so at the end of the night I do end up looking a bit pander-y but don’t we all?!
